For this episode of The Beat, we sat down with Sydney house music legend, Cassette. After cutting her teeth in the industry working behind the scenes for one of the country’s biggest festival promoters, Cass’ progression to becoming one of the most well respected and versatile acts in the country was seamless. Over the last 15+ years, she has fostered and impressive resume of shows including Days Like This festival and SASH breakfast domestically, while taking on some of the world’s most infamous clubs including Sisyphos Berlin and Cafe Del Mar Ibiza. The Beat 017 - Rodd Richards Presents

For this episode of The Beat, we sat down with the brains trust of Rodd Richards Presents - Rodd Richards and Ilse Martyns.
Rodd is one of Sydney’s longest standing promoters, with his earliest parties and events dating back to the 90s.
He has a decorated history in Australia’s nightlife, touring global superstars like Basement Jaxx, Faithless and Roger Sanchez among others, while also orchestrating some of the country’s biggest festivals including Electric Gardens and Festival X.
Ilse Martyns has been by Rodd’s side for a number of years. Working her way through the ranks, this iron woman is one of the main reasons why RRP is as successful as it is today, playing a pivotal role in all event managerial and operational tasks. As Rodd puts it, Ilse is the glue of the organisation.

For this episode of the beat, we sat down with one of Sydney’s most unique brightest prospects - SILLYBITCHESDIE.
SBD,aka Bella Noble, has been a prominent figure of the underground scene for a number of years now. Her renegade style parties with her brands ‘Illicit’ and ‘City Soup’ have grown into spaces that are highly regarded as the go to place for raves in Sydney.
As a DJ, SBD’s versatile and genre fluid style has taken the scene by storm. Her seamless mixing between Drum & Bass, Jungle, Garage and Techno have made her a sought after act, having played at notable events including Lost Sundays, supporting HORSEGIIRL on top of many more.

After a short hiatus to focus on our new brand ’SWITCH’, the beat is back in 2024 and to kick things off we’re joined by an OG from the UK, Doorly.
Over the last two decades, Doorly has become one of the most respected artists in the underground scene. His music speaks for itself, with his tunes being supported by absolute legends of the game including Armand Van Helden, Green Velvet and Fatboy Slim.
These days, Doorly spends a lot of time helping the next generation of artists coming through with his projects Orbit academy and label Reptile Dysfunction.

The Beat 013 - Danni B

For episode 13 of The Beat we sit down with one of our favourite DJs who has been a staple of the Australian dance scene over the best part of twenty years - Danni B.

Danni’s career in the industry has taken her all over the world, playing and working alongside industry leaders for almost two decades. Her own party ‘Bodywork’ with good friend Cassette has taken them to Europe and newly established Gold Coast club night ‘Playdate’ has hit the ground running with their second event taking place this Friday.
Listen in as we chat to Danni about her new residency at onesixone, working with industry heavyweights like Loco Dice overseas and her time living in Berlin for 9 years.

The Beat 012 - Scotty Cal

Edition 12 of the beat sees us sit us down with Northern beaches native @scotty
Scotty has been residing in Bali for the past 6 years where he has taken his brand Escape and has secured a residency at infamous beach club 'Mrs Sippy'. Whilst over there he has supported some of the biggest names in the industry including Jamie Jones, Franky Rizardo and Sam Divine. On top of this, he’s been finding his feet in the studio, with a release on globally renowned label ‘Circus’ on the cards for later this year.

The Beat 011 - George Smeddles

This episode of The Beat sees us link up with one of the UK’s finest artists, George Smeddles.
George has been absolutely crushing the house music scene since his debut release ‘rock the party in 2018’, going on to build a huge presence both in the club and in the studio.
Between a #1 Track on Beatport, juggernauts like Michael Bibi and Marco Carola supporting his tunes, and playing at the worlds biggest clubs and parties like Amnesia, Glastonbury and Fabric London, George has established himself as a stalwart in the world of house music.

In edition 10 of The Beat we chat with the someone who’s quickly making a name in the Australian music scene - FUKHED.
Originally hailing from Brisbane, Lynn sought a move to Sydney to further her career in Music. She’s already played at some of the city’s most exciting parties in Chaos, Momentum during her time here so far, and also featured in an eye catching performance at Sound gallery.

The Beat 009 - Paluma

In episode 9 of The Beat we talk shop with one of Australia’s most talented DJ and producers - Paluma.
 
In the few short years since beginning the Paluma project, Tim Sullivan has conjured up a mountain of successes, most significantly landing three #1 records on Beatport. Support for his tunes has come from all over the globe with the likes of house music juggernauts Marco Carola, Jamie Jones and Archie Hamilton all rinsing his signature groovy beats.

The Beat 008 - Human Movement

For episode 8 of The Beat, we sat down with one of the staples of Sydney’s dance scene - Human Movement.
Eddy has been a mainstay of the scene since the inception of the Human Movement project, featuring on some of the country’s biggest events including Harbourlife, Wildlands, and Splendour in The Grass. 
With his AU tour well underway and a move to Amsterdam coming up, it’s clear that he is not slowing down any time soon.
